NACA examination pilot Donovan Heinle built the aircraft's past flight when he ferried it from Moffett Discipline to Andrews Air Force Base, arriving on 10 August 1954. The aircraft was saved there for 7 yrs prior to Smithsonian personnel trucked it into the museum's Garber storage facility in Suitland, Maryland. http://www.stes.tyc.edu.tw/xoops/
